Foundation took a roadtrip and retreat together in early December 2010, a touch later than in 2009.

The theme of our weekend was “The Meaning Is In The Waiting” and after arriving, settling in and chatting on the Friday, we met on Saturday to reflect, observe and discuss “waiting” within the context of Advent.

Several Foundationers contributed ten-minute slots on “waiting”. These included music and film clips, ruminations on science and the cosmos, and creativity through play dough!

After a hearty lunch we split off for some time to walk, relax, and play. Then, we sat/lay down for the family film Toy Story 3 – much crying from male and female alike!

Saturday night was performance night, and the Stage was a Friendly one for a feast of drama, music, poetry, and even beer-tasting! This then ascended to the heights of a big game of Articulate, and a late one.

Sunday was time to join the Lee Abbey community for their morning communion service, and we met to complete some surveys before praying and dispersing to wind our way back to frosty Bristol…

Next retreat: summer 2011!
