Imagine a church…

… which had nothing to do with buildings or empires, and everything to do with community and relationships …

… where you felt you had the flexibility to ask the real questions that keep cropping up in your head in your search to follow Jesus and get to know God better. And where you and your questions were taken seriously, without a ‘right’ answer lurking somewhere ready to be heated up in the intellectual microwave and served up to you, from you know not where…

… where you had utter confidence that you could bring friends along with you to services, irrespective of whether they shared your belief or not, without dying a ‘death by cringing’. Where the music, forms of prayer, spoken words and art-forms were not trite, obscure, sentimental or just plain unrealistic. And where everyone, irrespective of their faith or lack of it, was taken seriously and invited to participate…

… where friendship, fun, faith and support went hand in hand with mutual responsibility, honest accountability and commitment to growth in the way of life taught by Jesus…

… where your imagination was as important as your cognitive thought…

… where nobody was expected to be fully sorted out, but where people came together to help one another receive the wholeness Jesus offers …

… where the Gospel came without all the extra freight, and was allowed to do its own work of challenging, shaping and renewing your life …

It’s just a dream…
But we’d like it to become a reality.
